Prescott Western Heritage Center

The Prescott Western Heritage Foundation was formed to help preserve and promote our western heritage. It is our hope and belief that we can bring about a spirit of cooperation and of accomplishment by working with the community regarding this goal. We are committed to increasing awareness of Prescott’s rich history among our residents and visitors, through education, events, and other projects. 

Some of the assets that the Foundation is passionate about preserving and promoting, include the "World's Oldest Rodeo", our great museums, Whiskey Row/Historic Courthouse Plaza, art of the American West, cowboy poetry, cowboy/western music, the remaining working ranches, our other open spaces, Prescott's historic districts, and last but not least, our “Spirit of the West”.

Rarely does an individual or a single organization have a major influence in shaping the future of a community. But if a group of dedicated individuals and organizations work together, the collaboration can make a major impact regarding the preservation of our western heritage and potentially create a new era of downtown excitement and success for the local economy. We believe that Prescott’s history is the foundation for our future and should be a key element of the community’s long-term historic preservation plan and marketing strategy.
