What is a DMO?

Experience Prescott is the Official Office of Tourism for the City of Prescott, a division of Economic Development. The Office of Tourism acts as the official destination marketing organization (DMO) for the city.

The marketing budget comes from the Transient Occupancy Tax (Bed Tax) which is collected by lodging establishments and vacation rentals within the city limits. The Office of Tourism is assisted by a ten-member Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC) which is comprised of representatives of various tourism stakeholder groups.

The ultimate goal of the Office of Tourism is to seek responsible destination management by helping attract high-value, low impact travelers who stay longer, spend more and travel more intentionally and responsibly.
